GREEN@COMMUNITY Recycling Month

In order to promote community-wide participation in source separation of waste and clean recycling, as well as to foster a green living culture in the community to pave the way for realising the vision of resources circulation and "Zero Landfill", the Environmental Protection Department (EPD) launched a campaign, namely GREEN@COMMUNITY Recycling Month, from 26 November to 31 December 2022.

RECYCLING FEST@Kwun Tong cum GREEN@COMMUNITY Recycling Month Kick-Off Ceremony was held at GREEN@KWUN TONG on 26 November 2022, which marks the beginning of GREEN@COMMUNITY Recycling Month. The fair comprises interactive educational booths, upcycling workshops, smart recycling corner and different forms of performance so as to promote waste reduction and clean recycling.

EcoPark has also set up a game booth in the event and displayed the information of EcoPark Visitor Centre and tenants to promote EcoPark and disseminate green messages.

Grand Opening of "New Life Plastics Limited"

New Life Plastics Limited organized its opening ceremony on 7 December 2022. The facility is designed to turn PET and HDPE plastic bottles into food-grade ready rPET flakes and PE resins, which can be reused as raw materials for new food-grade, high-quality consumable or industrial products. This recovery process prolongs the life of reusable plastics, thereby, minimizing the amount of plastics ending up in landfill sites or escaping into the oceans. The facility is designed with green features including wastewater treatment, full photovoltaic solar panels, and heat recovery systems.

Mr. Ben Ng Wing Hong, Chairman and Executive Director of Baguio, Dr. Axel Schweitzer, Chairman of ALBA, and Mr. Patrick Healy, Chairman of Swire Coca-Cola, were in attendance to celebrate the opening and officiate the ceremony together with Mr. Frank Schepers, General Manager of NLP. Different pioneers of environmental protection were also invited to witness this precious moment.

Eco Expo Asia 2022 - Hong Kong Pavilion

Being a prominent business platform in Asia for the environmental industry and anticipated, Eco Expo Asia 2022 was successfully launched from 14 Dec 2022 to 17 Dec 2022 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Eco Expo Asia is organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, and co-organized by the Environment and Ecology Bureau of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. This year’s theme is "Green Innovations for Carbon Neutrality", over 220 exhibitors were converging together to display their cutting-edge solution of environmental solution and to join different seminars for sharing their experiences.

As with previous years, EcoPark also participated in the Eco Expo Asia 2022 by setting up a booth to promote our latest development and the recycling business of our tenants. Over 500 visitors visited the booth during exhibition. Some of our tenants also joined this prominent event by having their own booths set up.
