The youth organization, 2Gather, and the environmental protection group, Eco Action, have jointly launched a two-year project “Glass Recycling for a Greener Tomorrow” in Central and Western District with the funding under the Environment and Conservation Fund since 2013. The project aims at lowering glass bottles disposal and the burden of landfills and promote sustainable development of the community as a whole. The project promotes glass recycling to bars, restaurants as well as residential estates and buildings located at Central and Western District. Collected glass bottles will be delivered to a local construction materials manufacturer for processing and producing eco-pavers.

Beside facilitating the glass recycling, the project also has devoted to the promotion and publicity of environmental education with a view to raising the public and the youth awareness on going green, including recruitment of Green Ambassadors, educational talks on environmental protection, Green Workshops, etc. For those who are interested in the project and the arrangement of glass recycling, please visit Glass Recycling for a Greener Tomorrow Facebook page for details (Chinese version only).
