About EcoPark
In the document "A Policy Framework for the Management of Municipal Solid Waste (2005-2014)" published in 2005, the Government sets out a strategy on waste management that places emphasis on waste reduction and recovery.

EcoPark, Hong Kong's first recycling-business park, is a facility of the Environmental Protection Department specially constructed for recycling industry. Situated in Lung Mun Road, Tuen Mun, with a site area of 200,000m2, EcoPark is developed in two phases and provides a rentable area of 140,000m2 long term land at affordable costs for the recycling industry.

In operation since 2007, EcoPark provides long-term land at affordable costs and a whole package of amenities for use by the recycling and environmental industry with a view to alleviating the expenditure of recyclers on infrastructure, thereby encouraging their investment in advanced technologies and recycling processes. EcoPark endeavors to promote the turning of waste into resources by returning recyclable materials to the production line and the consumption loop, promoting the development of the local environmental and recycling industry.

Eleven lots of EcoPark have been leased for the recycling of waste cooking oil, waste metals, waste wood, waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), waste plastics, waste batteries, construction and demolition waste, waste glass, waste rubber tyres and food waste.
