2020 "Friends of EcoPark" Award Recipients

2020 "Friends of EcoPark" concluded successfully. A total of 322 corporates / organizations from sectors including hotels, catering, engineering, logistics, retail, cleansing, property management, as well as a number of organisations from the public sector, awarded the Certificate of Appreciation.

The e-certificates were issued to awardees in November 2020. Please click here to check the award recipients of 2020 "Friends of EcoPark".

We are looking forward to the corporates' / organisations' participation again next year, and join us to bring waste resources back to the consumption loop and thereby build a circular economy!

EcoPark Management Office achieved the "Social Captial Builder Logo Award"

To accord recognition to individuals and corporates/ organisations who have contributed to the development of social capital in Hong Kong, The Community Investment & Inclusion Fund (CIIF) under the Labour and Welfare Bureau has organised the biennial Social Capital Builder Awards since 2012. The Awards provide an opportunity for various sectors of the community to witness and share the achievements in building social capital in Hong Kong.

The following six core social capital dimensions, including Social Networks, Trust and Solidarity, Mutual-help and Reciprocity, Social Cohesion and Inclusion, Social Participation and Information and Communication, were adopted by CIIF to assess the achievements accomplished by applicants:

2020-21 Natural Christmas Trees Recycling Programme

The Environmental Protection Department (EPD) organized the Natural Christmas Trees (NCTs) Recycling Programme from 8 to 11 January 2021. The NCTs will be recycled into various useful materials. In addition to the Central Collection Point (CCP) in EcoPark, various District Collection Points (DCPs) will also accept household NCTs 2 metres tall or below. Participants who deliver NCTs to CCP in EcoPark or Recycling Stations of the EPD (formerly known as Community Green Station) will get an e-certificate. To facilitate the recycling of members of the public, CCP will operate until 25 January 2021.

Special Tour

9 Hong Kong Housing Authority (HKHA) staff visited EcoPark on 20 Nov 2020. The tour was started with presentation of the background and latest development of the EcoPark, followed by the guided visit to the Visitor Centre and a bus tour to the tenants and facilities.

A special tour to the recycling plant of On Fat Lung Innovative Resource Limited was also arranged to let them know more about the recycling processes of waste tyres.
