What's New

The Environmental Protection Department previously invited the recycling industry to tender for lease of a lot of about 6,000 square meters in EcoPark. After tender assessment, the lease was awarded to Champway Technology Limited (hereinafter "Champway") for recycling waste cooking oil.

Champway has been engaging in the recycling industry for many years. The collected waste cooking oil will be turned into biodiesel through a series of separation and distillation processes. Public can pay close attention to subsequent newsletters in order to keep abreast of the latest development of Champway.

To enhance the public’s awareness of green buildings, EcoPark participated in the Hong Kong Green Building Week 2017, organized by the Construction Industry Council and the Hong Kong Green Building Council Limited between 27 May and June 7, 2017. During this period, EcoPark offered guided tours on green features of EcoPark. In addition, EcoPark joined the Green Building Tours event on 27 May and 3 June so as to allow visitors to experience the green design of several environmental facilities located in the West New Territories in one take.

Tenant's News

China Commercial Logistics Company Limited (CCLCL, trade name: Hong Kong Biomass (Wood) Collect and Recycle Company) becomes one of the EcoPark tenants since 14 May 2017. CCLCL recycles waste wood into wood pellet, a renewable energy product, via crashing, sieving and briquetting processes. General public, institutions and organizations who are interested in supplying their waste wood to CCLCL for recycling are welcome to call EcoPark hotline 2496 7633 for further arrangement.

Special Tours

Members of the Cheung Chau Rural Committee visited Ecopark on 21 May 2017. Members were briefed on the local waste management situation and information. Site visit to the recycling factory of K. Wah Construction Products Limited (hereinafter called K.Wah) was also arranged for members to better understand the recycling processes of eco-block as well as the challenges faced by the industry.

Green Information

Yuen Long Community Green Station (CGS) is the fourth CGS project commissioned in Hong Kong. Operated by the Hong Chi Association (HCA), Yuen Long CGS is primarily targeted to serve Yuen Long residents, promoting "Use Less, Waste Less" lifestyle by various environmental activities, and supporting collection of recyclables of low commercial value for proper treatment and recycle.
