Nomination of "2017 Friends of EcoPark" Scheme is Now Open

Nomination of "2017 Friends of EcoPark" Scheme has been started and its deadline is 31 July 2017. Any organizations, institutions or companies which have provided supportive channels to assist the operation of the EcoPark tenants’ recycling businesses (including supply of waste resources to the EcoPark tenants, use of the recycling products made from EcoPark during daily operation, or provision of other assistance to the EcoPark tenants for their business development) are entitled to receive nomination through the EcoPark tenants. With the member identity of the "Friends of EcoPark" Scheme, organizations, institutions or companies can demonstrate their commitment to social and environmental responsibility to the public, while exploring new opportunities for further collaboration with other EcoPark tenants and members of "Friends of EcoPark".

The Environmental Protection Department and EcoPark Management Company are calling for your support to participate in the Scheme. Seize the opportunity to be part of it! For details, please visit the EcoPark website.

Community Promotional Activity

To promote tenants' recycling businesses, EcoPark participated in Tuen Mun District Occupational Safety & Health (OS&H) Carnival 2017 on 11 March 2017. Apart from setting up booth game for OS&H, information about the recycling services from all EcoPark tenants and the message of waste reduction were also disseminated to the public through game booth. EcoPark Management Company also received Gold Award in the CLP Trophy Game in the same event.

Tenant's News

The Opening Ceremony of EcoPark Tenant, On Fat Lung Innovative Resources Limited (hereinafter "On Fat Lung") cum Innovative Green Products Showcase was successfully held on 3 March 2017. Mr. Wong Hon Meng, Assistant Director (Waste Reduction & Recycling) of Environmental Protection Department attended the event and delivered opening speech, and over 100 recycling advocates participated to show their supports to On Fat Lung.

Founded in 1979, the EcoPark’s factory of On Fat Lung would mainly recycle waste rubber tyres. Through innovative recycling processes, Rubberized Paving Blocks, Rubber Sheet, Rubber Pads are produced. General public, institutions and organizations that are interested in supplying waste materials to On Fat Lung for recycling are welcome to call EcoPark hotline 2496 7633.

To enhance social awareness for the importance of food waste recycling and encourage supports of its businesses, EcoPark tenant, South China Reborn Resources (Zhongshan) Company Limited (hereinafter “South China”), successfully organized Open Day on 7 April 2017 and over 130 visitors joined this event. Site visit was arranged during the activity so as to let visitors fully understand the whole recycling processes and the difficulties encountered during the processes.

Special Tours

The Hong Kong Productivity Council arranged a Themed Tour to EcoPark on 21 April 2017 morning. Apart from capturing local waste management information, members paid a site visit to K.Wah Construction Products Limited to learn the recycling process of recycled bricks and the current difficulties encountered by the industry.

Representatives from the Hong Kong Housing Authority visited EcoPark on 21 April 2017 afternoon to gain knowledge of the local recycling industry.

 
 
Green Information

The Government's Inter-departmental Working Group on Clean Shorelines has started a new round of joint cleanup events with schools and community groups from April 2017 to promote the message of keeping the shorelines clean.
