EcoPark participated in the Eco Expo Asia 2016 from 26 October 2016 to 29 October 2016 to introduce the recycling businesses of EcoPark tenants to the public and the industrial / commercial sectors. EcoPark's participation also created a platform for EcoPark tenants to explore development opportunities so as to promote the development of local recycling industry.

During the exhibition, apart from exhibiting the recycling businesses of all EcoPark tenants, information about the Visitor Centre and the green architectural features were also displayed so that the visitors can understand more about the latest development of EcoPark.

EcoPark tenants, E. Tech Management (HK) Limited and South China Reborn Resources (Zhongshan) Company Limited, also set up booths during the event to introduce their businesses and recycling technologies.

The Environmental Protection Department previously invited the recycling industry to tender for lease of a lot in EcoPark with an area of about 5,000 square meters (Tender Reference No.: EP16-01). After assessment, the lease was awarded to Cheong Hing Refinery Works Limited (hereinafter "Cheong Hing") for recycling WEEE (PCB).

Cheong Hing has been engaged in the local recycling industry for more than 40 years. The collected waste PCBs will turn into pure metals through sorting and refining processes. Public can pay close attention to subsequent newsletters so as to keep abreast of the latest development of Cheong Hing.

Special Tours

The 8th Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Sustainable Development Conference organized a field trip to EcoPark on 24 September 2016. Apart from understanding the development of EcoPark, visitors also visited the recycling facilities of two tenants, Champway Technology Limited and St. James Settlement WEEE GO GREEN, to learn more about the operation of recycling industry in Hong Kong.

Delegate of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology visited EcoPark on 27 October 2016 to understand the development of local recycling industry. They also exchanged views with the representative of Champway Technology Limited on the recycling operation.

The Environmental Protection Department has launched a new thematic website - Hong Kong Water Quality Resource Centre, providing a one-stop interactive platform for comprehensive information on our efforts in protecting water quality, and for community education on working together to protect our environmental waters.
