Eco Charity Triathlon cum 5km Run was successfully held on 22 May 2016 in Shiu Wing Steel Mill and the EcoPark. Apart from promoting Triathlon and Cross-Country Run activity, raising the eco-awareness of "Reduce, Reuse and Recycle" to the public, with Hong Kong Bone Marrow Foundation as the beneficiary, the event organizer also aimed to raise awareness of the concept of bone marrow donation to the younger generations.

To maximize the use of land resources in EcoPark, the Environmental Protection Department invited tender for a lot (Tender Reference No.: EP16-01) with an area 5,000 m2 for waste recycling business in June 2016. For the sake of detailed understanding by the tenderers, the Environmental Protection Department also arranged a tender briefing cum site visit at EcoPark on 24 June 2016. The tender period of the lot has already been closed and the tender results will be announced in October 2016.

Special Tours

Some district council members of North District Council and Ms Anissa Wong Sean-yee, JP, Permanent Secretary for the Environment / Director of Environmental Protection visited EcoPark on 20 June 2016. Apart from exchanging views on the latest policies of various environmental affairs, they also paid a visit to Champway Technology Limited, K. Wah Construction Products Limited and South China Reborn Resources (Zhongshan) Company Limited to understand the latest development of their recycling businesses.

Volunteer Guide Scheme

To strengthen the environmental awareness of the public, EcoPark is now launching the Volunteer Guide Scheme so as to promote and support the social morality towards our environment. Any person who meets the following requirements is welcome to join this Scheme:-

  1. Possessing strong commitment to environmental protection;
  2. Having enthusiasm to mingle with people and has good communication skills;
  3. Willing to undertake voluntary docent services in EcoPark in Tuen Mun on weekends and public holidays;
  4. Having an education background of Form 5 level or above, fluency in Cantonese speaking.

Interest party can apply in the website and upon confirmation, the EcoPark management company will arrange a 4-hour training session. An assessment will be made after the training and those who pass will be appointed as the Volunteer Guide.
