Management Staff of UPML at EcoPark received the Outstanding Staff Awards from The Best OSH Staff Election at Tuen Mun District

UPML cares much for the safety and health of its employees and the community. We are committed to provide a safe and healthy working environment to our staff to ensure that activities carried out by the Company do not harm the safety and health of our staff and the general public. While taking up the management duty of EcoPark for a few months, UPML has implemented our Safety and Health Management System properly and won the Outstanding Staff Awards from Working Group on Occupational Safety and Health of Commerce, Industry & Housing Committee under Tuen Mun District Council. We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Mr. Mok Kwai Ho who has won the award and members of the team who had received the Excellent Prize during CLP Trophy Game on the day of "Tuen Mun District OSH Carnival 2015" on 14th February 2015.

Guide of Tenants

Yan Oi Tong EcoPark Plastic Resources Recycling Centre was invited by TVB for shooting of her popular lifestyle series Side Walk Scientist on 4th December 2014 to promote waste reduction. While Lunar New Year was approaching, families were all tidying up their homes and there would be lots of waste electronic and electrical appliances being thrown away at the time.

Technicians of St. James' Settlement worked very hard each day to repair the waste electrical appliances among which many of them were nearly unused and could be reused after minor repairs


South China Reborn Resources (Zhongshan) Company Limited is full speed ahead with her plant builder works and machinery installation. Many of her machineries were installed properly and were carrying out function tests. It is expected that South China would be commissioning by the end of the first quarter of 2015.

On 10th December 2014, representatives from FSE Holdings Limited (FSE) visited the visitor centre and two tenants of EcoPark, the cooking oil recycler, Champway Technology Limited and St. James' Settlement "WEEE Go Green" to get better understanding about their operations and the overall performance of UPML at EcoPark.

Senior management presented (from left three to right) were Mr. William Junior Guilherme Doo, Director & Deputy CEO of FSE; Mr. Andrew Wong, Director and Chief Executive Officer of FSE; Mr. Alvin Lee, the Chief Financial Officer of FSE; Dr. Steve Cheng, General Manager – Operations of FSE and Dr. Edmond Cheng, Managing Director of Urban Group.

Government officials from Environmental Protection Bureau, the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region visited two tenants of EcoPark, the glass bottle recycler, K Wah Construction Products Limited and Yan Oi Tong EcoPark Plastic Resources Recycling Centre on 5th February 2015 to get better understanding about their operations and the operation of EcoPark.

Business Manager of Yan Oi Tong, Mr. Asa Ng, explained to the Acting Director of Macao Environmental Protection Bureau, Mr. Terry Vai and his Functional Head about how Yan Oi Tong as a Non-Government Organization operating her business in Hong Kong and in particular in EcoPark.

Chairman of the Hong Kong Waste Disposal Industry Association, Mr. Thomas Tam and his team, together with some officials from Dongguan China, visited K. Wah Construction Products Limited on 11th February 2015 to exchange their insights to build a more environmentally friendly city.

Something About Us

To encourage youngsters to get prepared for their full time employment in future, UPML offers various internship job opportunities every year to major higher education institutes to work inside the company. This year, we are delighted to have two Year 3 students from Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Environmental Engineering and Management Programme of Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong to be deployed to EcoPark as Facility Promoter.

Ms. Tiffany Choi and Mr. Noky Kwong are now temporarily leaving EcoPark to continue with their studies in this semester. When summer holiday comes, they will return to EcoPark again and see you all soon.
