Lessons to Green
Multi Mug Holder

Living in a city with limited land resources like Hong Kong, how can we keep a number of fragile mugs safely without taking so much space? In this issue of Lessons to Green, we continue to share tips on turning waste to treasures. Easily available waste plastics can be upcycled into a holder cum protector for mugs, which makes stowing mugs a piece of cake!

Tools: Scissors, cutter, pen, ruler, sandpaper.

Material 1:
A cleansed plastic bottle without brand label (the diameter of the bottle has to be of the same size as the diameter of the mug).

Material 2:
Fruit protection net

Step 1
Draw two lines on the bottle with the distance between two lines the same as the thickness of the mug arm.

Step 2
Detach the tip of the bottle from its body by a cutter. Then, cut along the lines till the bottom of the bottle with a pair of scissors. If necessary, trim the sharp corners into round ones and smooth the edges with sandpaper.

Step 3
As an extra protection, cover the mug with a fruit protection net.

Step 4
Put mugs into the holder with their arm stick out of the track.
