Sharing by Hong, Volunteer Guide of EcoPark Visitor Centre

It has been almost 3 months since I first participated in the Volunteer Guide Scheme of EcoPark Visitor Centre. I have given tours to many families and different organizations and found that a lot of visitors are no strangers the ideas of conservation, waste reduction and recycling.

Some visitors might have thought that practising conservation and waste reduction would mean giving up the use of precious resources, which would make life difficult and result in reduced quality of life. After taking part in guided tour and discussion, many of them realized that on the contrary, waste reduction encourages consuming resources wisely and efficiently for quality living. Hence, they became more positive towards waste reduction.

Through the exchange of experiences on waste reduction and recycling with visitors, I learnt a lot and developed a better understanding of 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle).

Last but not the least, I look forward to receiving you at EcoPark Visitor Centre. It is hope that through exchanging experiences and learning from each other, we can play a part in the betterment of the living environment in Hong Kong.
