1. What are the policy objectives of EcoPark that set out to support the recycling industry both locally and internationally?
  The Policy Framework sets out a comprehensive policy to support the recycling industry. This includes allocating suitable land, encouraging research and development, introducing environmental legislation and providing effective support measures.

EcoPark supports local recycling and environmental industries in the following areas:
  1. Long-term exclusive land with marine frontage and basic infrastructure at affordable cost
  2. Services by Operator and built-in environmental protection measures can reduce tenants' pollution control costs
  3. Creating synergy among clusters of similar industries
  4. Vertical integration to create a "circular economy"
  5. More job opportunities for recycling and related industries
  6. Prestige associated with business based in EcoPark
2. How do I get to EcoPark?
  EcoPark is situated at 133 Lung Mun Road, Tuen Mun. Visitors coming to the EcoPark from Tuen Mun can get a connection bus No.K52 at the Tuen Mun Station, West Rail Lines, operating at 12 - 20 minutes interval.
3. What are the opening hours of EcoPark?
  The Administration Building operates from 9am to 6pm from Monday to Saturday. The Visitor Centre is open everyday except every Tuesday. Security surveillance is operated 24 hours on site with security personnel dealing with emergency enquiries.
4. How can tenants / public obtain more information on the EcoPark?
  Tenants / public can email / fax to the EcoPark Management on-site or visiting Environmental Protection Department website if they would like to obtain more information on EcoPark. Alternatively, updated information and downloaded forms on EcoPark are also made available on the EcoPark website.
5. How can disabled persons arrange visit to the EcoPark?
  Disabled persons who are interested in visiting EcoPark can contact the management office on site to arrange for a visit. Modern aids are provided within the EcoPark Administration Building to enable access for persons with disabilities.
6. Are there any catering services at EcoPark?
  There is no catering service at EcoPark for the moment. However, the management operator is actively reviewing the feasibility in upgrading its services and may provide catering services on-site subject to a growing demand.
7. Are there any guided tours for the public?
  The Management Operator is keen on supporting environmental education at community level. We provide docent service for those who visit the Visitor Centre. Please check our website for guided tours details and updates.
8. Can coaches / visitor's cars be parked in EcoPark?
  As there are limited parking spaces available in EcoPark, parking arrangement will only be provided on a first come first serve basis.
9. Does EcoPark allow access for the public?
  EcoPark operates on a vast site where industrial activities are taken place. In order to enhance the security and safety for all users and visitors, the EcoPark is operated with security access control system and surveillance systems. Visitors / Visitors' Vehicles have to contact the Management Operator for an entry permit before they are allowed access to the Park. Visitors / Visitors' Vehicles have to display the Visitor Permit for security identification purpose.
10. What procedures are required for construction works?
  According to "the Buildings Ordinance" and the relevant law, any person who intends to carry out building works must appoint an authorized person, and when necessary, to employ a registered structural engineer involved in any stage of construction. He also needs to appoint a registered geotechnical engineer, responsible for the preparation and submission of plans to the Building Authority under Buildings Ordinance's requirement for approval. In addition, the person must appoint a registered contractor to carry out the construction works. Authorized person, registered structural engineer, registered geotechnical engineers and registered contractors have a statutory responsibility to coordinate, supervise and carry out construction work, and to submit proof of structural stability and test reports. If there is breach of the law, the Building Authority may order the suspension of work or to require the person to remedy. Offender will possibly be liable to prosecution or disciplinary action. Management staff will review plans for compliance with the law, and will refer the plans to other relevant government departments for their consideration. The central processing system is designed to ensure that all statutory standards, safety and other requirements can be met. Before commencement of works, approval from the Building Authority must be obtained. The BD staff will regularly monitor and inspect construction sites (especially when entering an important phase of project), to ensure safety and to ensure compliance with the law. 11. What is an AP?
  Authorized Person (AP) means an architect, an engineer or a surveyor whose name is on the authorized persons' register kept under section 3(1) Chapter 123 of the Buildings Ordinance.

12. How long does it take for the approval or disapproval of the building plans?
  As per the performance pledge of the Buildings Department, first submission of plans and major revisions will be advised on whether a submission is fundamentally acceptable on the 45th day and approve or disapprove plans within 60 days.
13. Who should be responsible for applying electricity and water supply?
  The tenant or his appointed contractor should apply the electricity/water supply for the lot.
14. How to apply for a transformer room?
  Tenant should first evaluate the electricity requirement. If the requirement exceeds 250kva, tenant should appoint an AP to prepare for the submission to CLP.
15. What should be noted for applying industrial water and electricity supply?
  Tenant should first assess the consumption requirement in accordance with the plant design before submitting the applications to the relevant Departments.
16. Any special fire services equipment required?
  Depending on what business tenants are engaged in. Generally, plans submitted to the Building Department should include the fire-fighting equipment plans as well.
17. Any sewage treatment facilities provided inside each lot?
  No, tenants should make their own arrangement.
18. Is EIA needed to be done?
  Tenant should refer to the environmental impact assessment report EIA 226/2005A to see if his business is already included in the report. If not, then EIA needs to be carried out.
19. Any environmental licences/permits needed to be applied?
  Depending on the nature of business. Tenants are advised to employ an environmental consultant for advice.
20. How long for construction work after obtaining approval from BD?
  Depending on the scale and size of the works involved. Usually it takes half to one year to complete.
21. Which Department handles the application for a factory registration and certificate of origin?
  The Trade and Industry Department.
22. How deep is the seabed?
  Not less than 3 meters deep.
23. Is there any loading and unloading equipment provided at the marine frontage?
  No. Management Office can assist tenants to hire the service of an outside contractor if necessary.
