To encourage the public to play an active role in source separation and recycling, EcoPark together with Environmental Protection Department, the Environmental, Hygiene and District Development Committee of Tuen Mun District Council, Hong Kong Housing Authority, YOT EcoPark Plastic Resources Recycling Centre and St. James' Settlement "WEEE GO GREEN" co-organized EcoPark Recycling Weeks between 8 and 21 Aug. Within the fortnight, recycle bins were placed inside public estates in Tuen Mun to collect waste plastic.

Collection points were set up in Yau Oi Estate, On Ting Estate, Wu King Estate and Butterfly Estate on 13 Aug afternoon to collect plastic bottles and household appliances. In the afternoon of 20 Aug, collection points were set up at Sam Shing Estate, Tai Hing Estate, Kin Sang Estate, Fu Tai Estate and Po Tin Estate.

An awarding ceremony was held in EcoPark on 28 Aug to recognize the participation of housing estates which make the recycling weeks possible.
